All is clear now – despite the miniature difference in the results and the tough competition, Plovdiv’s audience’s Number 1 is “The Goat” of the director Georgi Djulgerov. The movie received the amazing grade of 5.804 by the public which makes it the winner of “The Golden Apple”- the award of SIFF in Plovdiv.
The vote of the public has been precisely rendered by a special formula, which takes into account the number of votes given for a certain movie, as well as the grade on the six point scale. The good news for Bulgarian cinema is that the movie which holds the second place is a home-made production as well. With a minimum difference and a 5.762 grade Stefan Komandarev’s “The World Is Big and Salvation Lurks around the Corner” takes a special place in the hearts of Plovdiv’s cinema lovers. The third place is taken by the winner of Oscar - “The Reader” with a grade of 5.530.
With regards to the whole audience for its activity during the voting process, the winning spectator became known last night in the presence of the whole crew of Plovdiv’s edition of the festival. Mr. Dimitar Minev (who voted for “The Reader” with a 6.0 grade) is the lucky winner of a DVD Player, provided by Sony Center.
Even though the festival was officially closed with last night’s guests – Malin Krastev and Gergana Pletnyova, the program will go on a little bit longer because of the high interest of the public. Today at 18:30 “The Goat” will be shown once again for those who didn’t manage to get into the crowded hall on its first projection. On March 25th, Wednesday, at 18:30 the long awaited English film “In Bruges” starring Collin Farell and Reif Feins will be shown.
Tickets will be sold in the box-office of Lucky Cinema.
